Second Zinnia

Zinnia skirt, the second (here’s the first). This time I didn’t change anything, so I kept the seam allowances as written, and the fit is spot on. Funnily enough, although this fabric is  also a rayon linen mixture, just as the first, it behaves quite differently. Firstly, it is much more prone to creasing. It isn’t as drapey as my first version, which results in quite a different look for the skirt (the hem in this one is much more pronounced and it doesn’t lie as flat as the other one).

It took alot of steaming to make the pleats behave. Just as my first version I lined this to make it opaque and tights friendly, but due to the better fit at the waist I omitted the belt loops this time.

70% invisible zipper, creases and buttonhole
